Just over a month ago, I returned from a fantastical trip to Ireland where I was reunited with my family. No doubt there was divine intervention in making my dream come true. I am blessed beyond words.
Yet, today, I struggled with my faith. The struggle was real. Sounds so cliché, but true. Life can blind the truth. Then, I remembered. I remembered a poem by Tolkien called the “Song of Aragorn” from The Lord of the Rings.
Song of Aragorn
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
If you read this poem and it reminds you of Strider, blessings to you. If you read this poem and it reminds you of Jesus, blessings to you. If you read this poem and it reminds you of another walking in truth and light, blessings to you.
My wish for you is that every word and every line
touches your heart, ignites your soul, and renews your faith.
